The nice thing about professionally installed systems is you don't have to lift a finger; after you've placed your order a technician will come to your home, set everything up for you, and show you how the system works. It's important to note that in some areas you may have to file for a permit to have a security system installed in your home. Nearly all of the latest DIY and high end home security systems offer support for voice control via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and in some cases Apple Siri, which allows you to unlock doors, change thermostat settings, open the garage, and arm or disarm your system with a spoken command to a connected device like an Amazon Echo or a Google Home speaker. Many also offer support for IFTTT If This Then That applets, which use triggers from IFTTT compatible web services and devices to create an action. For example, you can create an applet that says if a garage door is opened to turn on the floodlight. Whether you decide to go with a DIY system or opt for a professionally installed system, you'll have to pay a monthly or annual fee if you require monitoring, and in some cases, you'll be hit with a monthly fee to pay off the cost of hardware components.

I have given it four stars as I expect to be back to give it a five star at some stage. This will be when I’ve been away and the people responsible to respond give their views when they compare to how it worked in the past. I am now confident it will be five stars because I have been given the attention I needed. Having looked around for months for a good home security system, I came across SMART Home Security's Google ad. From the initial call to installation and post care, it's one of the best customer services I've received from a company. The security product is well designed and ergonomic, it's easy to use, and its mobile application is intuitive.

The one big advantage in going with a wireless home security system over a hard wired setup is in the installation cost. You will save hundreds if not thousands of dollars in installation costs by going wireless. In fact if you can hang a picture on the wall, odds are you can install a wireless security system yourself. With a wireless security system there are no wires to run other than the electrical cord on the control interface. You'll likely just need to be able to screw in a sensor here and there, or in some cases just stick it on via the adhesive backing. That means you or a paid installer won't have to drill through walls, concrete, steel, fish for and run wires through walls, and hook everything up to your home's power box which could even need a costly electrical addition.
